CVI 3500™

Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) System for Ceramic Matrix Composites

High-Volume Production System for Preforms & Structures.

Work Zone: 43″ ID & 75″ H

Graphite retort & heating elements

Five Zone Temperature Control

Operating temperature up to 1600 °C

Thermal Processing up to 1600 °C

Heating Rate >10 °C per min

Low Pressure Operation

Operating pressure 7 to 10 Torr

CVD Equipment’s CVI platform is used to coat fiber preforms with silicon carbide (SiC), boron nitride (BN), silicon nitride (Si3N4) and carbon. CVI processes are used to modify fiber matrix bonding by depositing thin interfacial layers on the fiber surface in the production of ceramic matrix composites. These advanced coatings are used in the aerospace industry to manufacture SiC/SiC composites used in gas turbine engines and other applications requiring advanced CMCs.

powered by CVDWinPrC

Powered by our CVDWinPrC™ process control software, the systems automatically log data and graphically show time-dependent values of user-selected parameters. CVDWinPrC™ also allows users to load preprogrammed recipes, modify, check, and create new recipes, and view real-time or saved process data.

Safety Protocols

The systems have application configured safety protocols embedded into relay logic, PLC, and CVDWinPrC™ software.
